The Forks is hiring seasonal Eco Team Members to help us keep The Forks Market and Forks Market patio clean, welcoming, and sustainable during the busy summer months! LOCATION: The Forks Market Event Space (second floor, Northeast corner of The Forks Market, beside dconstruct)
WAGE: $19.59/hour + commuter benefit
The Forks is a fast-paced, fun, and welcoming environment that is community-oriented, collaborative, and innovative. The 52-acre site is an all-season gathering space in downtown Winnipeg featuring local retail shops, a wide variety of food vendors, as well as must-see historical and cultural places and programming. We are looking for individuals who share a love for building community-focused shared spaces that offer a positive visitor experience for everyone.
Reporting to the Eco Team Supervisor, the Eco Team Member will work to maintain high levels of cleanliness throughout The Forks Market and The Forks Market patio. This person will be "on the ground" with front-line teams, to ensure that public spaces are clean, beautiful, safe, and welcoming for all visitors. The Forks Market Eco Team Member will assist in:
• Offering a warm and friendly greeting to visitors, providing assistance as needed.
• Clearing used dishes, glassware, and waste from tables and public spaces, both from inside The Forks Market and The Forks Market patio.
• Sorting compostables, recyclables, and waste at the sort stations.
• Washing and delivering clean dishware, glassware, and cutlery to tenants of The Forks Market.
• Performing general cleaning duties, ensuring consistent and overall cleanliness of The Forks Market and The Forks Market patio. This could include sweeping and mopping floors, emptying garbage receptacles, and other general cleaning duties as assigned.
• Supporting with larger routine cleaning tasks in The Forks Market and The Forks Market patio.
The Forks Market Eco Team Member is someone who:
• Has a friendly and positive demeanour.
• Is able to work independently and manage their own time.
• Enjoys working within a diverse team in a supportive and helpful manner.
• Pays close attention to detail.
• Is able to work on their feet for 8 hours, in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cooler temperatures.
• Is able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Has a flexible schedule and is available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
