Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB) Presents: Workplace Safety and Reporting Workplace Injuries
The Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB) provides services and benefits when you are hurt at work. Whether you are a domestic or international student, you have the right to a safe workplace and the right to access benefits from WCB if you are hurt at work. This session will explain workers safety rights in Manitoba, what the WCB is, how to report an injury, and the benefits and services WCB can provide. Whether you are currently working, or looking for work in the future, this session provides important information about your health and safety rights in the workplace. Time will be provided to answer questions.
Emily Gerbrandt (she/her) is a compliance specialist at the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB). She works to ensure workers' rights are protected by preventing and detecting employers who interfere with injured worker's rights and educating communities about their workplace health and safety rights. Joining her will be a Co-Presenter from SAFEWork Manitoba, Jackie Bernat.
